Nomic Reader (the "App") is a local reading tool. Your book content, reading records, preferences and other core data are all stored locally on your device. The App has no account system, does not require registration or login, and does not upload your books or reading data to any server.
To sustain ongoing development and operation, the App integrates Google AdMob ad SDK, displaying banner ads in designated locations such as the personal center page. AdMob collects limited information related to ad delivery (such as Android Advertising ID, device model, coarse geographic location, IP address, etc.) in accordance with its own privacy policy. For details, please refer to the "6. Third-Party Services" section below.

2.2 Data Collected by Third-Party SDK (Google AdMob)
The App integrates Google AdMob ad SDK. When the App requests ads from AdMob, Google collects the following categories of data in accordance with its privacy policy for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention and effectiveness measurement:

The App itself does not read, store or forward the information collected by AdMob, nor does it associate AdMob data with your reading records, book content or local files.

3. Local Data Storage
The App uses the following local storage methods to save data:
- Isar database: Stores structured data such as book information, reading records, bookmarks, notes, and reading statistics
- SharedPreferences / Hive: Stores user preferences and app configuration
All data is stored in your device's local storage space and is never transmitted to any remote server or third-party service.
4. Network Connection
The App initiates or allows the following network requests:
- SMB / WebDAV / FTP connections: Users can configure connections to their own network storage servers to browse and read remote files. All connections are actively configured by the user. The App acts only as a client directly connecting to the user-specified server. It does not route through, relay, or store any intermediate server.
- Google AdMob ad requests: After app launch and when displaying Banner ads on the personal center page, the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends ad requests to Google ad servers (e.g.,
googleads.g.doubleclick.net,pagead2.googlesyndication.com, etc.) to load ad content and record ad impressions.
Other than the scenarios above, the App does not actively initiate any other network requests and does not transmit your book content, reading records or local files to any server.

The App requests the following Android permissions solely to implement core features:

The above permissions are used only for reading and writing local files, and are not used to access, collect, or transmit any personal data.

6.2 Your Control Over Ads
You can control ad personalization and the advertising ID through the following Android system options:
- Opt out of ad personalization: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Turn on "Opt out of Ads personalization". When enabled, AdMob will still show ads but will no longer personalize them based on your interests.
- Reset advertising ID: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID, which generates a new anonymous identifier.
- Delete advertising ID: On Android 12+ devices, you can choose "Delete advertising ID", after which AdMob will receive a zeroed-out identifier.
The App strictly complies with Google Play Developer Program Policies regarding advertising ID usage: AAID is used only for advertising and user analytics, and is never linked to permanent device identifiers (such as IMEI, MAC address, SSAID) or your personal identity information.
6.3 Third-Party SDKs Other Than AdMob
Aside from Google AdMob, the App does not integrate any other third-party analytics, statistics, advertising or data collection SDK, nor does it share user data with third parties through other channels.
7. Data Security
The App takes the following measures to protect user data:
- Your book content, reading records, notes, bookmarks and preferences are stored only on the device and are not transmitted to external servers
- SMB / WebDAV / FTP connections are configured by the user, and connection credentials are saved only on the device
- The App does not actively collect, store or transmit your personal identity information
- No cloud sync or backup feature is used
- AdMob-related data is protected by Google in accordance with its own security and privacy policies, with HTTPS encryption for transmission
8. Data Retention and Deletion
8.1 Data Retention
All data of the App is saved in your device's local storage. The retention period is determined by you.
8.2 Data Deletion
You can delete all data stored by the App in the following ways:
- Clear app data: Android system settings → App management → Nomic Reader → Clear data
- Uninstall the app: Uninstalling the App will automatically delete all locally stored data
- In-app actions: You can manually delete individual books, bookmarks, notes, etc. within the App
- Contact the developer: If you wish to request deletion of any data processed by the App (including data processed by Google AdMob on our behalf), please email us at 1192653484@qq.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is targeted at adult users and is not directed at children under 13 (in accordance with US COPPA) or minors under 16 (in accordance with EU GDPR-K). The App does not knowingly collect personal information from users in the above age groups, which is also reflected in the Google Play content rating.
The App does not enable "Tag For Child-Directed Treatment" when sending ad requests to AdMob. If you become aware that a minor is using the App, please contact us through the contact information below, and we will assist you in removing relevant local data and stopping personalized ad delivery.
10. European Economic Area (EEA), UK and Swiss Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the App will present a consent prompt via the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) before the first ad request, explaining data usage and requesting your choice. You can:
- Consent to personalized ads and data processing
- Reject personalized ads (non-personalized ads will still be shown)
- Change your choice at any time through the "Ad Consent Management" entry in the App
The App will transmit the corresponding consent signal (TCF standard) to AdMob based on your choice, and Google and its partners will adjust their data processing accordingly.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, especially when integrated third-party SDKs or data processing methods change. Changes to the Privacy Policy take effect immediately after being published on this page, with significant changes also notified within the App. We recommend that you review this page periodically to stay informed about the latest privacy practices.
